Tip Top Lofts – 637 Lake Shore Blvd West
The Tip Top Lofts is one of Toronto’s oldest, most historic lofts. The Tip Top Tailors building is a distinctive art deco landmark, originally built in 1929 by Bishop & Miller. The city of Toronto officially declared it to be a Heritage Property in 1973.
Located at 637 Lakeshore Blvd West, on the south west corner of Stadium Rd and Lakeshore Blvd – this loft houses about 256 suites ranging from 600 to 2580 square feet. The top 6 storeys are technically ‘soft lofts’ as they are new additions to the original building. The Architecture firm that is responsible for this loft is Architects Alliance – who also developed loft projects including 550 Wellington, Mozo, Spire, and Pier 27.
Loft suites feature high ceilings, concrete mushroom columns, high end finishes and exposed duct work. Lofts in the original 1 to 5 floors have 13 and 14 foot ceilings – while mezzanine lofts from the new floors 6 – 9 have 17 foot ceilings and windows with balconies. Penthouse lofts are on floors 10 and 11 and have 11 foot ceilings on each floor.
Robert was patient, informative and went at my own pace. Will certainly refer to anyone looking.
